?My oldest changed a half size at least every 6 mos. and wears a 1.5. My ds2 turned 3yrs. June 2nd. He was a 7 most of last year, was an 8 in the spring and has just jumped into an 8.5. He is in a growth spirt right now though. Same with my dd who just turned 2yrs. in May. My oldest has narrowed to normal, but the toddlers still have issues if the shoe is too narrow!! So if you’re little one tend to grow in "spirts" then I would think at least 1.5 2 sizes till next summer. My 4 year old has gunboats (just like Mom and Dad!) for feet but that is a recent development. Before that, it seemed she would grow about 1/2 a size to a full size every 9 months or so maybe. She’s off the charts now I am leary buying any shoes for her unless we are using them right now. Good thing I can sell her unused shoes I bought ahead of time on eBay!
Shoes are incredibly hard to predict. I just bought her some shoes on sale at TCP and they are 10’s. They look huge, lol. winter after my ds turned 1 (so he would have been 18 months ish) his feet grew 2.5 sizes over the winter. Poor kid had no boots, I couldn’t even force his feet into the ones I had bought at the beginning of the season. I generally do is to buy a size or two up from where they are. For sandals I wouldn’t even try. Casual/everyday shoes I definitely do. I live in MI and our season for wearing sandals is short. I would check garage sales next spring.
