?French footwear designer Christian Louboutin is turning up the heat on companies that copy his iconic shoe designs. The designer, whose famous red soled footwear are favorite of A list celebrities and retail for upwards of $1000, has just launched a new website to make it easier than ever for luxury loving shoe collectors to be sure they are getting real Louboutin’s.
This newly launched Stop Fake Louboutin website outlines the designer’s dedication to eradiating copies and offers a searchable database that allows shoppers to enter a website URL and immediately find out the likelihood that authentic Christian Louboutin products are being sold through that retailer.
Counterfeit merchandise is a serious problem for high end designers and retailers. The news section at the Stop Fake Louboutin website chronicles the company’s fight against knock off resellers and the staggering number of fake shoes the company has seized and destroyed. The website shows that in December the company helped shut down more than four thousand websites selling counterfeit copies of shoes.
