?Snip a length of 1/2 inch wide ribbon with scissors; the ribbon should be approximately 12 inches long. Thread this ribbon onto your embroidery needle, and then thread the needle through the top edge of the foot at the point where the sole widens. Weave the needle and ribbon in and out of the stitches at every inch around the top edge of the toe portion of the shoe until you reach the opposite side, directly across from where you started. Pull on the ends of the ribbon to gather the toe portion of the shoe, then put the shoe on your foot and tie a bow in the ribbon to hold it on. It will fit like a slipper.
To make your shoe more sturdy, cut out a piece of leather or similar material to match the size of the shoe sole. Glue or sew this material to the bottom of the shoe.
To make a chain stitch, bring the yarn up and over the hook from the back to the front (yarn over). Catch the yarn in the hook and draw it through the loop on the hook.
To make a single crochet, insert your hook into the stitch indicated. Yarn over and draw up a loop, then yarn over and draw through both loops on the hook.
