?My favorite shoes the look and the feel I never really paid too much attention to shoes other than how the looked and how little they cost. As I got a little older I found that my feet and legs were starting to ache and I noticed that my shoes were wearing down faster than they had when I was a teenager. As a Doctor of Chiropractic and college instructor I am on my feet all day and the shoes started to become more and more important. One day I was in a discount shoe mart at a farmers market, not exactly the place you would think has top of the line shoes, when I stumbled upon a pair of brown Ecco sneaker/shoes. They were a dark leather upper with the sole of a sneaker. I tried them on and I swear they made love to my feet. Okay, I am being a lil dramatic but it was the first time that I can remember a shoe really feeling good. So I bought them and wore them home. I wore them the next day, and that night. I think I may have even wore them to bed. I wore and wore and even still wear these shoes. I may even be buried in them. I think I have been wearing these shoes at least 4 times a week for over two years and they have very little wear to the soles. If you have read my blog about shoes and back pain you know I am critical about shoe wear and its cause.
I strayed, I learned I loved my Ecco shoes, but I needed more. I needed a black pair of shoes so I went back to the same farmers market. I was heartbroken to find there were no black Eccos so I had to commit shoeultery. I saw a pair of Johnston and Murphy clack dress shoes that had great lines and a great price (59.99$). I tried them on and wore them out. They didn’t feel quite the same but they looked nice. I wore them everyday for a week. After a week I noticed my knees started to hurt a bit when going up stairs. I then would feel a burn in my big toe at night. I knew it was the shoes. Well it wasn’t so much the shoes as it was my body but I knew that the Eccos never caused me that pain. I was convinced that I needed to go back to the Eccos, as brown as they were, and so I went out and bought 5 pair of tan pants and 6 blue shirts.
