The 18 year old student has won the BBC Over the Rainbow show and the right to wear Dorothy ruby slippers, and fight of the wicked witch of the west in a new Wizard of Oz production.
Danielle doesn live far from where I live, so I know the people of Greater Manchester where she is from will be so proud of what she has achieved here tonight. She was voted the audience favourite to play Dorothy after two months of singing before the nation and judging panel, and beating off many other hopeful Dorothy
She was joined in the final by 17 year old Sophie Evans, from south Wales. Sadly for Sophie she was not to follow the yellow brick road to dance with the munchkins. But Hope will after winning Over the Rainbow.
Hope will lead the cast in an Andrew Lloyd Webber West End production due to be staged next year. As we all know it will be a major hit purely because of Danielle taking the part of Dorothy, and the man behind it all, one of the world greatest musical men Mr. Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Congratulations to Danielle Hope our Dorothy of the West End. Okay no one will ever fill those ruby shoes like Judy Garland did, but if anyone can ever come close to doing this is, the young girl from Greater Manchester Danielle Hope who won Over the Rainbow.
