?Our little guy has 2 little teeth, and I’m fairly certain there’s another trying to come through. He’s been really fussy at bedtime and after every other option has been exhausted we’ll give him tylenol. It’s not every night, but only when we really think he needs it. Well, DH mentioned last night that maybe we should try baby motrin instead because a friend of ours said that she never used tylenol with teething but baby motrin. Anyway, our pedi gave us a list of things we could do for him to help with teething and baby motrin is on it, but her first choice is tylenol. I guess I’m a little leary of using the baby motrin because while I was pg they told me not to use ibuprofen, only tylenol. So I keep thinking in the back of my head, if it’s not safe for an unborn baby, is it safe for a 6 month old? I think it would be okay or the pedi wouldn’t leave it as an option, but I’m not sure I don’t want my son in pain, and I know tylenol doesn’t really help me and if I have cramps or a headache ibuprofen is what I usually go for, but I’m just not sure what I should do. This can help them sleep longer.

The reason they don’t want you to take ibu during pregnancy has to do with the fact that it is an anti inflammatory. It is safe for baby and in the case of teething it can help a lot with sore gums.

Also during the day I use frozen teething rings or just take a wash cloth and wet one corner and stick it in the freezer. They can gum down the corner and that helps a lot without any medication. But at night the pain can be worse while they are lying down and meds can really help!

Yeah, we only ever really use the tylenol at night. We rely on the teething rings a lot and the vibrating ones work really well. Thanks ladies! Any other ideas are welcome!! :)
