Yeah, it a normal look and it been in fashion for a couple years now.
It was started by New England preps, kind of a subtle version of the to hell mindset, with the idea being to hell, if I don want to wear socks I won Originally it was just in casual situations, but people picked it up the past few years and moved it to dress shoes and suits. Some ladies thought it was very fashion forward and asked if i was a talent agent or manager or did A But close friends (who i value their opinion) said i looked try hard douchey. I at a university in New England where this is very much a part of the culture, and I think some of the messaging behind it is that "I can afford to not care about wearing socks". Now, whether that because people know what they doing and take really good care of their shoes, or because they legitimately don give a damn and will just buy new ones, that a case by case basis.
