I approve of derbys/oxfords/bluchers, light broguing, cap toes, and work boots that do not look like American styled work boots as fashionable footwear. I approve of plimsolls for the most part. I approve of classic styled footwear in non standard colors and finishes. I am indifferent towards loafers and driving shoes, but I don like moc toes. I approve of leather soles, leather mid soles and rubber outsoles, dainite, commando, Air Jordan 9 Retro titan or lug soles. I approve of chukkas that are styled more like monkey boots. Infact, I bet good money within 24 months monkey boots are going to be all the rage on MFA and supplant Desert Boots because they seem to be creeping into high end men fashion now. All just my opinion and I know it not a popular one around here.
I never liked boat shoes, but for me the clincher was when Air Jordan 6s a woman told me “You should get a Air Jordan 18s pair of Sperrys. They so in right now.” Firstly, nothing in my wardrobe says “would look great with boat shoes”, and secondly, a sure fire way to ensure I will never buy a particular article or style of clothing is for someone, particularly a woman to recommend it to me because it “in right now”.
