The reason most doctors prefer a c section is that most are no longer trained at performing breech births. My practice ran the gamut from doctors that had been doing it for 35+ years to some that had been delivering babies for 5 years. There was no guarantee of which doctor would be there on delivery day, which is why they only offered the conversion or c section if she did not flip.
Glad she able to have a safe and beautiful delivery at home even with what most doctors see as a complication.
My second baby was head down until the day before she was born, so babies can turn either way at the last minute even. It hurt so bad when she flipped, it took her several hours to finish turning. Anyway, I thought she had just moved from one side to the other, so the c section was a surprise, but I got a healthy baby, so that is all that matters. It wasn my first choice for a birth plan, but possibly she knew best and she wasn meant to be born the regular way.
